Leary, Alberico, Liefooghe, and Snow take wins in round 4.

The Jim Russell Championship Rotax Series held their second race of the season this past weekend at Infineon Raceway. This weekend saw a record in entries for the Rotax series. 45 Racers came to compete in the series and combined with HPV, Comer and TAG Masters Sierra Race Promotions had a total of 75 entries, this does not include the 24 Arrive and Drive. Saturday was the raceday and the weather was warm with a hot sun, slight breeze coming from the east kept it cool.

Jr Rotax hit the track next as Kartel Motorsports Neil Alberico and Cambrians Mikee Mejia would continue their battle from previous races. These two are no doubt the top Rotax drivers in Norcal. Mejia got the pole, but Alberico Got the lead in the PreFinal. These two would swap a few times, but Alberico got the win. Neil would get put back to second for jumping the start, and the Final front row would start the same. Alberico would again get the lead on the start. Mejia would chase him and retake the lead, but Kartel Motorsports Neil Alberico and his Top Kart would retake the lead and on to victory. Mejia was right behind Alberico, Jordan Jadallah would finish third, Cameron Pringle fourth. HPV-2 was dominated by Weddle, Cornell second, and Justin Wolff third.

Sr Rotax saw Marin Kartings Clayton Snow get fast time. Yazco Motorsports Michael Ostrowski looked to give Snow a battle in the main, but was shrugged off into the dirt on the start and went to the back. Snow was out by himself. Gregory Liefooghe got second, Joe Karratt third, Ostrowski made a run through the entire field to finish fourth.

In Rotax Masters Brit Leary got pole, David Carlisle got the win in the PreFinal. In the Final Brit Leary got behind early but later would run down Carlisle. Leary got the win, Carlsile was second, followed by Jay Brosius and Peter Boot. In Rotax Masters light, there was Great Racing. Bryan Hughes got pole and an easy PreFinal win, but the main was a different story. Hughes got the lead early but the Jim Russell Pro Shop driver Irvin Sevilla changed setup, got behind early, then caught Hughes and started the fight for the top spot. Sevilla tried to get by but lost ground, Hughes would drop a tire and spin out, allowing Sevilla to cruise to victory. Hughes would fight from fourth to second, Jo Montes finished third, and Richard Cockshot fourth.

In DD2 Cambrian's Gregory Liefooghe would get pole position and the win in the PreFinal. Marin Kartings Kris Shaw would grab the early lead in the Final but Liefooghe would get by as Kris Shaw would chase him, but Liefooghe was to tough and would get the win, Shaw finished second, Kartports Glen Poy Wing and Medusa's January Grove had a good battle for third, Poy Wing would come out on top leaving Grove in fourth.

The next round of the AMD/Marin Karting Rotax Challenge will be contested at Infineon Raceway on June 30th, 2007 which will kick off the second half of the season.
