Past Norcal Rotax champions return

Series News: Past Norcal Rotax champions turned race car drivers Troy Castaneda and Mike Hill to compete in AMD/Marin Karting Rotax Series last race this weekend, October 20 at Infineon Raceway.

Watch out AMD/Marin Karting Norcal Rotax drivers, two Rotax champions are coming to compete in the last race of the 2007. They will both compete in the Senior class.

The Norcal Rotax classes have now attracted some of the best drivers the area has to offer and it is also a great stepping stone to moving on into cars. All but the DD2 championship has been decided so expect some great racing.

2006 Norcal Rotax champion Troy Castaneda embarked on his car driving career this year running the full season in a Formula Russell car. He finished 4th overall in the Formula Russell Championship, finishing every race and receiving the "Iron Man Award". This award was in recognition to the driver who completed the most laps throughout the season. Visit www.troycastaneda.com.

Mike Hill won the Northern California Marin Karting Rotax Max Challenge Championship in 2005. He went on to compete in the Grand National (South Bend, IN) event as the youngest driver in the international field. There he placed 4th for the American championship and 5th overall against the top drivers from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago. Mike competed in Formula Ford in 2006 and moved up to Formula BMW in 2007. Visit www.yoracing.com.
