2008 Rotax Grand Finals Set for La Conca International circuit, Italy
The 2008 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) will take place in Muro Leccese in southern Italy, November 27–30 on the famous La Conca International circuit. The 1.25km circuit is located in the heel of the Italy ‘boot’, outside the city of Maglie, and has hosted many of the top European races. Track website is: www.laconca.com
“The 2008 RMCGF will take place in Italy, the kingdom of karting,” stated Patrick Moreau, the Canadian Rotax Max Challenge national manager. “The La Conca facilities, host to numerous high level competitions in the past, will offer the challenge that karters all around the world like to face. In addition to this the famous Italian hospitality and the wonderful climate of southern Italy, I don't think we can ask for better conditions to present the Grand Finals."
The 2007 edition of the RMCGF took place in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates where Canadian Pier-Luc Ouellette earned the world championship in the DD2 category, helping the country win the Nation’s Cup award. Both United States and Canada will be returning again, with drivers to be selected at the United States Rotax Grand Nationals at USA International Raceway in Shawano, WI - September 10-13 and the Canadian National Championships - August 8-10 at the Karting Grand-Mere facility in Quebec.
The chassis providers to be chosen by Rotax will be announced by the end of April.
