Challenge of the Americas Announces 2010 Dates and Venues

September 16, 2009 (Orange, Calif.) – While the Rotax community is centered this week on the Grand Nationals in Norman, Oklahoma, the Challenge of the Americas has solidified its schedule for the 2010 season.

The Challenge of the Americas, which offers direct qualifying spots to the Rotax World Grand Finals and Grand Nation- als, is a six-race, three-weekend championship series that is officially recognized by Bombardier Rotax and attracts the best karting talent throughout the winter months.

In 2010, the series will again begin in January at the PKRA circuit in Glendale, Arizona. This track produced a thrilling start to the 2009 season. In February, the Challenge of the Americas will travel west to the Calspeed Karting Center in Fontana, Calif. The track is located just outside turn four at the Auto Club Speedway.

The finale will see the series return to the Jim Russell International Karting Center at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. The series visited the track in its first year, and the venue should provide for a great finale with a large local Rotax contingent in the area.

Each race of the Challenge of the Americas will feature a live webcast with race commentary, timing and scoring, and a live blog so that family, friends, and sponsors can follow the action from home.

“We are very happy that we have been able to put together this schedule for our third Challenge of the Americas,” said series owner Andy Seesemann. “All three tracks will provide great racing, and all are in areas that are good for our teams that travel long distances to compete.”
